How the foundation makes grants

The foundation supports nonprofit organizations through grants made in furtherance of its charitable purposes.

Our approach

Bright Horizon Foundation is a private non-operating foundation. Grantmaking is its principal means of carrying out its charitable purposes.

The foundation identifies and supports preselected nonprofit organizations. It does not maintain an open grant competition or a public application cycle.

Unsolicited requests

Bright Horizon Foundation does not accept unsolicited proposals, letters of inquiry, or requests for funding.

Oversight and reporting

The foundation's leadership and directors oversee its grantmaking activities and stewardship. Grants are reported through the foundation's annual federal tax filing.

External nonprofit profile and tax-exempt organization search resources are available on the Public Records page.
